In the last ten years with the introduction of the BTS Skytrain in 1999 and the MRT underground transit system in 2004 the face of Bangkok’s public transportation infrastructure has changed immeasurably. Also, when Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened in 2006, Thailand had a world class ultra-modern airport to service its rapidly growing economy and vitally important and popular tourism industry. Unfortunately, upon landing in Thailand tired travelers upon arrival still had to run the gauntlet of expensive taxis and ‘limousines’ that would invariably get stuck in the city’s congested traffic.  That, however, is no longer the case with the opening, last year, of Bangkok’s brand new state of the art rapid transit line The Suvarnabhumi Airport Link.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport Link is a two line rail service. Its services include of the 15 minute non-stop Express Line from the Makkasan City Air Terminal and the airport and the 8 station City Line. Naturally, the Express Line is the more expensive line and, with it being a direct train, is overwhelmingly patronized by people either working at the airport or those arriving and departing on flights. The City Line, on the other hand is a commuter line already inexpensively servicing thousands of travelers every day. The line stretches from Phayathai, where commuters can interchange with the BTS at Phayathai BTS station, through Ratchaprarop (adjacent to Pratunam market), the main terminal Makkasan (a short walk from Petchaburi MRT station and Ratchada Road), and onwards to areas such as Ramkhamhaeng, Hua Mak, Ban Thap Chang, and Lat Krabang, that have until now, been sadly inaccessible to people wanting to avoid the traffic or the dubious pleasures of the river taxis. The final station is of course, Suvarnabhumi Airport.

So which Bangkok condominiums and apartments are conveniently situated as to take advantage of this new development in the ongoing development of Bangkok’s public transport? We at Bangkok Property Services already have a number of apartments and condos that can cater to those that wish to be near the new link.

For those choosing an area in which to live in Bangkok, there is a wealth of options. There are the international and chic areas of Thonglor and Ekkamai with their huge variety of restaurants from all around the world, bars and nightclubs. There are also the bustling and ultra-modern business areas of Silom and Sathorn. For people looking for a more peaceful existence there is the increasingly popular Ari neighbourhood. For people looking for excellent value for money there are areas like Suthisarn or Hway Kwang with many well priced condos and apartments adjacent to the MRT (Bangkok’s underground railway system) stations, and for the shopaholics among us, there are the areas surrounding Siam with its huge shopping malls and trendy boutiques frequented by Bangkok’s fashionistas. One area always remains a popular one with both ex-pats and Thais alike, and that’s Asoke.

Asoke is a central entertainment, business and travel hub. Located at the cross-section of Sukhumvit and Ratchadaphisek Roads, it is dominated by Asoke’s BTS station where one can also interchange with the MRT at the Sukhumvit station. It is therefore ideal for those that need to or like to travel around the city regularly. Around the station are many hotels and facilities catering to tourists and business people alike, which also makes it one of the most accessible areas in Bangkok to live if your Thai language skills aren’t particularly strong and/or you greatly value convenience.

For those wishing to live in Asoke, fortunately, the area boasts some of the most luxurious and attractive condos and apartments in Bangkok. The Lakes, for example, offers outstanding city and lake views along with large balconies, roof top facilities, and has the additional benefit of being one of the few high quality condominiums that are pet friendly. The Lakes is only two minutes from Asoke and has one bed condos from 40,000 Baht, two bedrooms from  55,000 Baht and  three bedrooms from between 65,000 and 70,000 Baht.

These uniquely designed condos start from 40,000 Baht for a 70sqm one bedroom unit, from 55,000 Baht for two bedrooms and from 80,000 Baht for three bedroom units.

Finally, there is Supalai Premier Place. Another well constructed modern condo located only a seven minute walk to Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations. The one bedroom 50sqm units start from as little as 20,000 Baht while the two bedroom 75sqm units start from 30,000 Baht.

If you would like to view any of these condos or any others with a view to living in Asoke or, indeed, any area of Bangkok, why not take advantage of Bangkok Property Services’ in-depth knowledge and experience of the Bangkok property market today and call us http://bangkokpropertyservices.com/ . According to your requirements and budget, we will earmark a number of suitable properties and arrange visits to the condos and apartments of your choice at the earliest possible convenience.

For anyone visiting Bangkok for the first time, one of its most instantly recognizable traits is the skytrain. Winding through the city’s central financial and business districts, the BTS Skytrain allows tourists and Bangkokians alike to travel inexpensive and speedily along its two lines, Silom and Sukhumvit. However, travelling above the heaving Bangkok traffic isn’t the only way to get from A to B without being stuck in a traffic jam, there is also the Skytrain’s younger brother the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit).

Opened five years after the BTS Skytrain in 2004, the MRT, sometimes known as the Bangkok Metro, is a single line 18 station underground mass transit system stretching from the residential area of Bang Sue eastwards to Ladprao then southwards to Klong Toei and finally westwards to Hua Lampong, Bangkok’s main railway terminus. It interchanges with the BTS Skytrain at its stations in Silom, Sukhumvit, and Chatuchak Park. The MRT is cheap, quick, painstakingly maintained and safe, but it has also opened up areas of central Bangkok that were in the past not as accessible and thus not as attractive as potential areas to live.

Indeed, neighborhoods adjacent to MRT stations are some of the fastest developing areas in the city, but as yet, the prices of properties in these areas are yet to reach their equivalents near the BTS stations. Therefore, properties near the MRT offer some of the best value for money in Bangkok. Below, we have detailed just a few of these apartments that Bangkok Property Services can show you today.

First is the Klangkrung Resort in Huay Kwang. The Klangkrung Resort is located near Huay Kwang MRT station and the main business artery of Ratchada Road. Only a short walk to Robinson’s department store, Carrefour supermarket and Esplanade shopping mall, and featuring excellent facilities such as a large gym, Jacuzzi, and steam room as well as a restaurant, and sizeable 50sqm one bedroom apartments, Klangkrung Resort is an excellent option for those looking for a value for money condo that is excellently situated.

Life@Huay Kwang features a rooftop pool, gym and sauna. Studios are from 13,000 Baht, 1 bedroom units from 15,000 Baht, and its 2 bedroom apartments from 25,000 Baht.
